hi, i’m mike. i like journalism, politics, outer space, and data visualization. i used to work at Stamen, interned at NASA/JPL, the LA Times Data Desk, and Grey Area. this is where i store experiments and rough sketches of ideas.

i try my best to provide an accurate picture of the data, but there are always errors when aggregating and working with large datasets: geocoding errors, misspellings, duplicate records, etc. despite my efforts, there are sometimes errors that make their way into the final product. as such, there is no guarantee of 100% accuracy in these visualizations.

i’m @miketahani on twitter, miketahani on github, and you can email me at “me” at i’m available for contract work.
